    I came to CrossFit Tulare because I needed a change in the gym. I had done quite a few half marathons and I was burned out. I wanted to try something new. I had heard a lot about CrossFit and how challenging it was. My experience here at CrossFit Tulare has been very great. I have seen excellent results and progress. I have gained lots of strength, muscle definition, When I first joined CrossFit, I could not do a pull-up and never thought I would. I am now doing pull-ups unassisted and so much more. The coaches are always willing to listen and help you out if you need it. I would have never expected a family-like community when I joined. The members that come to CrossFit Tulare are very welcoming and a joy to work out with. They are always giving awesome encouragement during your workouts.

    I would highly recommend CrossFit Tulare to anyone. Why? Because you will receive excellent results, a great nutrition plan on how to eat for specific goals, excellent training, and not to mention — awesome friendships. The coaches here at CrossFit Tulare are all certified and know exactly what they are talking about. I am very pleased with my results, I came to CrossFit Tulare weighing in at 135 pounds. Today, I weigh 112 pounds. I have leaned out so much and gained lots of muscle definition.

    I started CrossFit at the request of my daughter Jen who had already been training at CrossFit Tulare for a while and was loving it.  I’ve done a lot of different sports — triathlon, running, swimming — but nothing like this. The workouts are short and intense. I was always looking for weight loss or at least [weight] control. I am now 20 pounds under my high school weight. Don’t expect a miracle overnight. Be consistent. Scale the workout. The competition should be with yourself; all the people at the gym are on your side. Nutrition, sleep, and recovery will make your goals a reality. Don’t be afraid to ask Coach Mike for help; he’ll make it better, you can be something great.

    I joined CrossFIt Tulare because I wanted to improve my conditioning and lose some weight. But because of past injuries I was worried and wanted professional coaching. I started out with personal training, in order to address my specific situation and have since migrated into the group CrossFit classes. If you are considering trying out CrossFit I would really recommend CrossFit Tulare. The coaches are fantastic at addressing my limitations within the group class and I end up with a personalized program, and so does every on else in class.

    I understand some of the hesitations people have about joining a CrossFit gym. At 58 and suffering from declining strength, health and the addition of some not-so-good weight gain I took a chance and now I am getting stronger and lighter every day. I am amazed at the things I am able to do now — even things doctors told me I would never be able to do again. All the exercises done can be modified to match where your abilities are. The coaches are great at teaching proper techniques to avoid injuries and they work within your ability range. I can’t compete with the younger athletes, but I can work on making myself healthier and that’s my ultimate goal.
